The teen years can often feel chaotic and challenging for adolescents and their parents. Adjusting to high school, exploring identity, learning skills for self-advocacy and managing relationships, managing difficult emotions, and prioritizing self-care are just a few challenges that many teens face. It is important for teens to have adults outside of their family that they feel they can talk to and trust. Likewise, it is often beneficial for teens to recognize through hearing from their peers that they are not alone and to learn that talking about difficult topics can help them grow and heal.
High school group meets weekly on Wednesdays from 6:30pm-7:45pm. We are currently accepting new group members of all genders from age 14-18. Please contact us if your child is interested in joining this group.
Regardless of age, gender, race/ethnicity, sexuality, ability, body size, or other identities, we all grew up and have lived in a culture that rewards people whose bodies conform to societal beauty and body size ideals. It's therefore no surprise that so many of us struggle with negative body image. Whether you have been stuck in a restrict/binge cycle; dieted chronically; think of yourself as an "emotional eater"; have a confusing relationship with food and/or movement; are struggling solely with body dissatisfaction; or are even just curious about what it means to have a healthy relationship with your body, this group is for you.
Body Image Group uses a Health at Every Size (HAES)-aligned approach to help group members explore ways to reject the diet mentality, develop an intuitive relationship with food and movement, manage body image triggers, and heal their relationship with their body -- without trying to change their body.
Body Image Group meets weekly on Thursdays from 5:30pm-6:45pm. We are currently accepting new group members of all genders, age 18+. Please contact us to schedule a pre-group assessment if you are interested in joining this group.
In a world where it is assumed that your true gender is assigned at birth, living someone who is transgender, gender nonconforming, or questioning your gender identity can be isolating. It can be difficult to find safe and supportive people, gender-affirming care, and community with others who share your experiences. Likewise, it is common to struggle to challenge internalized messages about gender roles and gender expression as you explore a way of being that is true to you.
Strong and Proud seeks to provide a safe and gender-affirming space for clients who are seeking queer community and support as they navigate and manage stressors both related and unrelated to their gender identity.
Group sessions will be tailored to fit the needs of group members. Current curriculum includes discussion of oppression and identity invalidation within the queer community itself, toxic masculinity and femininity, the continual process of self-discovery/identity, and gender and sexual plurality.
Strong and Proud is currently accepting new group members of all genders, age 16+. Please contact us to schedule a pre-group assessment if you are interested in joining this group. This group will begin meeting weekly on Tuesdays from 11am-12:15pm starting September 17, 2024.
This ongoing support group is for individuals living life after a heart attack or heart surgery. Wide-ranging topics are discussed from the shared viewpoint of being cardiac survivors.
