Yoga

The western-based medical field has recently acknowledged benefits of yoga for soothing the Central Nervous System, reducing blood pressure, and relieving symptoms of anxiety and Post Traumatic Stress. Research has also indicated the yoga practice is effective for helping individuals with traumatic background more effectively tolerate sensory and environmental stimulation responsible for triggering symptoms of reactivity and hypervigilance. At Age to Age Counseling, our yoga classes are designed to support all students, regardless of ability,  in developing new and more effective coping strategies to manage stress. Find out more at:

Mediation

Meditation has been found useful in a number of studies for reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety and insomnia. Some mental health counseling models are grounded on a philosophy of mindful practices, designed to assist the individual in staying present-centered rather than becoming activated by past memories or future fears. Our Tantric meditation class is suitable for all levels of practitioners and includes pranayama (breath awareness exercises) along with guided meditation and visualizations to cultivate deeper awareness of the self and energy centers in the body.
